It sounds easy enough: get fit. But how many of us actually do it on our own?

Over 12 weeks, nutritionists and personal trainers from MeritCare will work with three individuals as part of The Forum's "Get Fit" challenge.

Check in as these individuals struggle and succeed at eating better and moving more.

For readers who want to make their own lifestyle changes, experts will provide weekly tips and suggestions.

Exercise:Bench or chair dip

Find a bench or chair to support you. Hands should be hip width apart with the heel of the hand resting on the support. Slowly lower yourself by bending at your elbows until your elbows are at a right angle (90 degrees). Try to keep your shoulders directly above your hands. Don’t let them move too far forward. To make this movement more difficult, elevate your feet. Perform 2 to 3 sets of 8 to 15 repetitions.
