 April 8, 1997 Craig Harrier of Bismarck, N.D., gets supplies together to load on a canoe Monday afternoon while helping his son-in-law, Doug Kuhn, fight floodwaters back at his home just north of West Fargo near the Sheyenne River. Kuhn had gone into Fargo to buy a second generator to power four sump pumps after word came from home that they were losing ground in their battle to save the home.
