Craig Harrier of Bismarck, N.D., gets supplies together to load on
a canoe Monday afternoon while helping his son-in-law, Doug Kuhn,
fight floodwaters back at his home just north of West Fargo near the
Sheyenne River. Kuhn had gone into Fargo to buy a second generator
to power four sump pumps after word came from home that they were
losing ground in their battle to save the home. Harrier and Kuhn later
walked the canoe through floodwaters more than a mile to the Kuhn
residence.

Rain and melting snow made the Red River jump higher during the weekend,
with just the top of a stop sign visible on Third Street North, which
runs under the NP Avenue bridge near the Center Mall in Moorhead.

Moorhead city crews struggle against the snow and winds of Sundays
blizzard to block off roadways which have already fallen victim to
the Red Rivers floodwaters. The Third Street North underpass
that runs along the Red River and under the NP Avenue bridge is one
of the first to be blocked off by warning signs and barricades.
